At a 100% permanent & total rating
Full exemption of the homestead's entire fair cash value for veterans with a 100% permanent and total service-connected rating (Oklahoma Constitution, Art. 10 §8E). No dollar cap, no income test.
Income test
None. The exemption does not depend on your income.
Surviving spouses
The unremarried surviving spouse continues the full exemption on the homestead.
How to apply
File OTC Form 998 with your county assessor with the VA benefits award letter specific to this exemption. You must own and occupy the home on January 1, have the deed recorded by February 1, and qualify for the regular homestead exemption.
Worth knowing
Moving within Oklahoma? Form 998-B transfers the exemption to a newly acquired homestead so you don't restart from zero.

Before you count on this: exemption law changes by legislative session, and counties administer the details. Confirm current amounts and deadlines with your county assessor or the official source below. Figures on this page were checked July 16, 2026.

A property-tax exemption lowers the monthly payment a lender counts in your file, which can raise what you qualify for. Run your numbers with the exemption’s effect via the buying-power calculator (use the property-tax override in advanced options), and see the funding fee guide for the other big disability-related saving.
